Suzie & Terry with Puppet Partners Florida storytellers Suzie Shaeffer and Terry Deer perform together as the Kaleidoscope Storytellers. We bring over fifty years of combined experience as storytellers and puppeteers to our tandem programs for schools, libraries, festivals and other venues. Our fresh, lively performances use tandem storytelling, puppet partners, creative dramatics, props, poetry, songs and audience participation to delight and enlighten children while reinforcing their language and social skills. Check out our calendar of public appearances to see if we're performing near you.

Kaleidoscope Image - animated

We've recently updated this website, with information about our summer 2006 library tour , a printable mini-poster for the tour of the Kaleidoscope Story Cafe, and a listing of summer 2006 public appearances by the Kaleidoscope Storytellers. If you want us to e-mail you each time we add something new, just click here.

We have adopted the image of a kaleidoscope for our tandem programs because we believe that stories are like the mirrors inside a kaleidoscope, reflecting and revealing the world. Like kaleidoscopic images, stories change over time and with each new telling. We use a kaleidoscope of storytelling techniques to bring traditional tales to life for a new generation. Besides, we think that kaleidoscopes are fun to make and use.
